Title Sequence Comparisons - Research

There are many genres of film and each has a general convention that they like to follow when creating tiles. An example of this is in action/ superhero movies, often the titles will all be shown in one long sequence with no actual part of the narrative, just titles over pictures to do with the narrative. Examples of this can be found in the Spiderman movies, X-men movies and many others.

Similarly, modern thrillers show many pictures related to, or directly showing the narrative in order to set up some sort of background information, but few actual shots of the actors are used, if they are used, they will often be stills. Examples of this can be seen in films such as Se7en, Mimic and Sherlock Holmes, the later being a mixture between an action and a "whodunit" thriller.

From these it is possible to see that film companies and investors are often the first titles that are seen, followed by either the title of the film or by famous actors. As we don't have any actors that are of any note, we will put the title before the actors' names. Furthermore, the director is always the last name to appear and the producer is very often the penultimate name. In between these, there is often the script writer, film score composer, editor and sometimes director of photography.
